1. The Oslo Diabetes Research Center shall work to promote diabetes research in Oslo and contribute to the best possible diabetes research in Norway.

  2. The research center is organized with an elected chair and a steering committee. The University of Oslo shall be represented in the steering committee, and the following fields should be represented: Pediatric diabetes, type 1 diabetes in adults, type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes, epidemiological research, and basic medical/translational research. In the event of a tie, the chair has the casting vote.

  3. Members are proposed by their project leader and approved by the steering committee.

  4. Project leaders are approved by the steering committee.

  5. A general assembly is held once a year.

  6. The general meeting elects the leader, steering committee, and nomination committee for 3 years. The leader can be re-elected twice. The nomination committee shall consist of three members. Both genders must be represented in the steering committee and the nomination committee.

  7. The chair must have formal research competence, as well as a permanent scientific position at the University of Oslo, Oslo University Hospital, or the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.

  8. The chair's tasks are to lead the center, facilitate good research, contribute to the economy by seeking external funding sources, initiate and organize seminars and courses in line with the center's mission, raise awareness of the center, and facilitate international research collaboration. The leader submits a budget and accounts to the steering committee for approval.

  9. Amendments to the statutes require a 2/3 majority at the general meeting.
