ROSA-4: The quality of primary care for type 2 diabetes
in a multiethnic general practice population – and impact of multimorbidity treatments and disease control on outcomes
Background:
Multifactorial treatment reduces the risk of complications in type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Aims:
To assess the quaIity of primary care in Norway across patient subgroups by ethnicity, age of onset, socioeconomic status, place of residence, and factors associated with poor quality and development of complications.
Methods:
Cross-sectional data (ROSA-4) from primary care from 2014 from about 10 000 T2D patients from Oslo, Akershus, Rogaland, Hordaland and Nordland, linked with data from Statistics Norway.
News from 2020:
Bakke defended her thesis (UiB) in February 2020. We have published five papers in 2020 about variation between general practitioners in processes of care for T2D, and in the achievement of HbA1c, blood pressure and LDL cholesterol targets, about factors associated with potential over- and undertreatment of hyperglycaemia and annual measurement of HbA1c, and lastly about the total prevalence of diagnosed diabetes and the quality of care for the adult population in Salten.
