Current research focus
I adopt a transdisciplinary analytic lens to jointly investigate the social and biological determinants of T2DM and its comorbidities. I seek to draw on the field of political economy in order to shed light on the broader causes of health inequality, whilst leveraging knowledge from the biomedical sciences to examine how a wide array of environmentally induced alterations of key physiological parameters may impair health. By viewing social and biological factors as pathogenically integrated, my research is geared towards a unified scientific understanding of disease causation.
