Current research focus
The main focus of my research work has been the effect of lifestyle intervention in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. We have also published work on the weight increasing effect of insulin, its effect on cardiovascular risk and possible underlying mechanisms. I am currently PhD-supervisor (together with prof. Helga Refsum) for Susanna Hanvold who is investigating if lifestyle intervention can prevent weight gain and improve cardiovascular risk after gastric bypass surgery.
