Oslo University Hospital (OUS) has announced the recipients of its award for exceptional original articles published in the autumn of 2024. This honour includes a cash prize of 50,000 NOK for the winning research group, which can be utilized for unrestricted research purposes in 2025.

The award recognizes the excellence of the following article, published in Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology (2024): “Treatment regimens and glycaemic outcomes in more than 100,000 children with type 1 diabetes (2013–22): a longitudinal analysis of data from pediatric diabetes registries,” by Anthony T. Zimmermann et al. Professor Torild Skrivarhaug, Oslo University Hospital, affiliated with Oslo Diabetes Research Centre, and professor Jannet Svensson, Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, are joint senior authors on this study which examines advancements in the management of paediatric diabetes and highlights the improvements in glycaemic control, as well as the reduced risk of severe hypoglycaemia, thereby underscoring the impact of diabetes technology on children's health.

The award ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at Ullevål Hospital, in Building 25, Green Auditorium, from 15:30 to 16:00. The ceremony is open to the public, and any colleagues who wish to attend are welcome to do so.
